It's becoming more and more common for the 02M six speed found in the first generation Audi TT and some special editions of the VW Golf and Jetta to drop out 1st and 2nd gear.  This is caused by a broken rivet that secures the 1st and 2nd gear shift fork.  Don't replace your easily repaired transmission with another one that will likely fail for the same reason.  We can repair your damaged transmission, replace a few seals and upgrade your clutch for about half the price of replacing your transmission.

The Driven Show was a big success this year with over 300 vehicles on show of a much broader selection of vehicles this year than ever. We had a great spot right at the entrance with our customer's Lamborghini Gallardo Twin Turbo and Nissan 350Z Twin Turbo front and centre.

 

Our Customers Twin Turbo Lamborghini was a show stopper, it really is a work of art.  It doesn't hurt that it's got 1000 Horsepower either!  It took Best of Show for Modified Exotic.






There was lots of interest in our unusual shop truck, a 1992 VW Vanagon Transporter Double Cab with a custom 1.8T engine swap out of an Audi TT225, complete with the full engine wiring harness and drive-by-wire throttle.  Tuning is Stage 1, courtesy of Eurodyne, and makes this usually snail like truck into a whole different beast.  It took Best in Class, Judges Choice.

Our Yellow TT has a 3.2L 24V VR6 with DSG and serves as our track/auto cross car.  It is currently a work in progress with a Sparco Evo 3 racing seat and 5 point harness, BBS "CH" wheels with Potenza RE-11's, 15" K-Sport 8 piston front brakes and 14" 4 piston rears.  Suspension is K-Sports excellent "Road Race" coilover suspension system that is fully ride height adjustable and has 36 positions for damping adjustment.  Eurodyne has provided both Engine and Transmission performance flashes.

Here is what the inside of your engine looks like after 120,000 kms if you follow the factory oil change intervals of around 12,000 kms on your Turbocharged VW or Audi.  



These engines really need more frequent oil changes, we recommend every 6,000 kms for a Turbo engine and 8,000 kms for non-turbo.  You should also use the best oil available, preferably something specifically formulated for your engine.  We recommend either Motul or Liqui-moly, both use high quality european synthetic base stock that isn't found in the majority of oils. A good OEM filter is a must and only cost a few dollars more than the bargain brands.

Today we finished a nice upgrade to this Porsche 996 Carrera.  The intermediate shaft seal and rear main seal were both leaking so while we were in there we also upgraded the Intermediate Shaft bearing to keep this engine going strong.  The IMS bearing is prone to failure so it is a good idea to upgrade it to a high quality bearing like the one in the kit from LN Engineering http://www.lnengineering.com/ims.html when the IMS seal is replaced.

Our customer was experiencing brutal shifts with his 2004 V8 Touareg after 90,000 miles. After diagnosis, the valve body was showing normal signs of failure along with the torque converter.  A quick scan confirmed what was wrong.
